Best Action Games for Android

If you're like me you like the games that let you kill zombies or run around fighting things. This week's post is all about those apps. These apps rank in some of the top spots on my phone and are constantly being played.

1. Max Axe
A very interesting game. You can either be Maximus or Maxine the Viking. To play the game you draw lines on your screen to show the path you want your axe to take to either collect coins or kill your enemies. When I first started playing this game I was addicted for at least an hour. As you play and collect coins you can buy upgrades for you armor or axe. The first thing you'll get is a bucket for your head then later a helmet and some other stuff. As your axe gets stronger and you can make it further your enemies get more difficult to kill. I would definitely recommend you get this game if none others!
2. Zombie Highway
Many people are familiar with "Walking Dead" (how about the finale?!?) and a lot of us are in the "zombie phase" right now. In Zombie Highway you're driving in a car while zombies continue to attach onto your car and try and flip you. To get them off you can use other cars on the road to scrape them off or you can use your guns. At first you'll only have a pistol and scraping them off is much easier. Once you get used to the game and earn more money you can upgrade your guns and vehicle to get further in the game. The zombies will also get harder to kill, they get stronger and some even start to revive themselves.

3. Wipeout 2
If you're considering going on Wipeout you may want to play the app first. You work your way through various courses which progressively get harder. You race against opponents to the end to gain stars. Earn coins along the way to unlock and upgrade different characters. Upgrades are available to either boost your speed, rewind and try again, or skip a difficult obstacle. I find the "big balls" the hardest to navigate. This game might also be easier on a tablet, on a phone it's difficult to navigate your person.

4. Jetpack Joyride
If you're looking for a time passer this is a great game. The gameplay is very similar to Temple Run or Minion Rush if you've ever played those. Except this one you fly with a jet pack instead of run. There are lasers and missiles to try and take you out while you try and collect coins. You can try and continue to beat your personal best or complete different missions which get more challenging and take longer to complete as you go. Another nice feature is the different jetpacks you can purchase which allow you to use a different one each time, after you've unlocked them.

5. Stickman Warriors
When I first opened this game and started playing I just started laughing. You're a stickman pitted against another stickman. You're put inside a box and you must fight the other person. To fight you just drag your finger at the other and try to aim for the most vulnerable parts of their body, it does the most damage, like their head. As you start to beat levels the enemies will get harder and there will be more stickmen to fight. Don't expect this to be a high quality fighting game, it's not, just comical relief with a little bit of strategy.

6. Snail Battles
You're a giant snail who battles. Random? Yeah, what else would it be with "Snail Battles" as the title though? First, you start out with a machine gun who shoots from the top of a snail. As you progress through the stages you'll get more people/weapons to battle with. You can always have a team of four in each stage (4 different characters and weapons), although at first you won't have all of them unlocked. Again, like most games the further you get the more difficult the enemies get. There are 60 different levels within each stage and you can either choose easy or hard difficulty so there's plenty to play with.

7. One Finger Death Punch
Not a complicated game by any means but I still found it entertaining. Being just a stickman you have a trainer who will take you through a tutorial of how to play the game. As an enemy approaches you, on the right, you click the right button. The only trick is you have to wait until it's within range. Some enemies you'll have to click right left right or some combination. The more silver coins you get the more you can upgrade and do more damage.
