Best Free Android Game Apps!

We all need little fillers throughout the day, whether we're waiting in line for the movie premieres or class to start. Here are some of my favorite free game apps at least that I've found so far. The best part is they're all free so you can download them all and test them out for yourself.

1. Temple Run
Run, Forest, run! I'll start out with an oldie but goodie (good 'ol Forest) It starts out as a man stealing an idol while creatures chase after him, or maybe he just felt like running. As you continue you meander through a "temple" turning, jumping, and ducking around obstacles. The game continues to go faster and faster until you run off the edge, fall through a pit, or run into a firey arch, it's GAME OVER.

The only objective is to try and beat your high score or to crush your friend's, but remember a best good friend isn't something you can find around every corner. The more runs you do the more coins you get which allow you to buy new characters, upgrade power-ups, and buy other things to help you in the game. Once you hit that 10,000,000 you'll understand that miracles happen everyday, some people don't think so, but they do. And that's all I have to say about that.

Can you find the 4 Forest Gump references??

2. AA

Sometimes I think they named it aa, so it's the first thing that pops up alphabetically, and can I just point out how original the name is. Memorable, but a monkey could have made it. This is a new app I've recently discovered. I only played it a few times but it is incredibly addicting and keeping me from doing actual, productive things. The first time I opened it I ended up playing it for a half hour put it down and picked it back up for another half hour.

The goal of the game is to get, what I call pins, to the middle without hitting the rotating dots that are rotating around a middle circle. At first I thought
it was SUPER easy and wondering how it made it in the top 100. Then I got to level 8 and my opinion changed rather quickly. So much fun, so addicting

3. 2048
If you want to feel like hitting yourself in the face over and over again, this is the game for you. You will get so close to winning pride and joy will flood over you!!! and then...with a flick of your finger it will all be taken away from you.

This game has died out from the time it was incredibly popular but, it has still made my favorite Android games list.  For those that haven't ever played it. Don't. You will not put this game down and you will be frustrated until you win. I don't know if the simplicity of it is what makes it so great or just a puzzle game to try and stump you.

You start with a 4x4 square with a couple numbers either 2s or 4s. Then you swipe across, up, or down to match the numbers. If two 2s hit each other it becomes a 4. If two 4s hit each other it becomes an 8, two 8s make 16, 16s make 32, and so on all the way to 2048. Slowly the square will fill up and you will be able to swipe less and less until you win or lose.

4. Crossy Road
If you're looking for a game like the
classic "Frogger" this is your game. You wander, as a chicken, over grassy plains, rivers, streets, and railroads avoiding obstacles along the way. Make sure you don't stop in one area for too long, if the bottom of the screen catches you, an eagle swoops down and snatches you. Watch out for those trains too, they come out of nowhere.

5. Zombie Tsunami
I'm convinced. Running from zombies will one day be our lives. But, hey, you know what they say when you're running you just have to be faster than the slowest person. I just hope I can avoid better than the people in this game.

You start out with a single zombie jumping over cars and gaps in the road, eating humans, to grow your horde of zombies. As you progress the screen gets faster and it's harder to keep your whole horde of zombies alive.

If you get a mystery box you get a little help. Your zombies may all become football players, a giant monster, or hop on a giant wave that carries you for a short distance. As if running from zombies wasn't hard enough they give them help? As you play you'll want to complete the mini challenges to collect coins and upgrade your power-ups and get new items!

6. Planst Vs. Zombies
Da Da Dun. Plants v Zobies. Who will win and who will lose? A war to end all wars. Yes, the name describes exactly what it is. Plant plants outside the house to defend it. Zombies will approach while your plants shoot others will slow them down for a while. Collect the sun rays to pay for more plants to defend the house. As you get farther in the game you unlock more plants with different abilities and the zombies get more and more difficult to kill.

7. Blendoku
Let's just say if you're color blind, you'll have some difficulties playing this game. And if you're thinking this great app is like sudoku it's not. This is a great app for the creative/artsy person.

The object of the game is to mix different shades of colors to work into the next shade of color. There is also a pattern to the colors working from light to dark. As you clear each level they get tougher and tougher.

I really enjoy this app (although I often need help from my friends) certain levels are definitely more difficult than others, and it gets extremely frustrating at times.

8. Trivia Crack
Think you know everything? Think twice before telling you're friend that and then they kick your ass in this game. Although the Trivia Crack craze phase has somewhat passed it's still fun to get on and play a couple rounds.

It will bring out your competitive side for sure (if you keep losing against the same person just give them a couple beers and then try)

The point of the game is to collect 6 stickers, one for each category of questions: Sports, Geography, History, Art, Entertainment, and Science. To earn a sticker you must first get 3 questions correct or spin the crown on the wheel and then get the question. You can keep answering questions as long as you answer correctly.

9. Flow Free
The object of the game is to connect all the dots to their matching colored dot. The first few levels are easy, but as you progress it gets much more difficult. When you get stuck on a level it gets impossible to put down, just one more level could be another half hour. The longer you keep your hints the more helpful they are. You will be tempted to use them on a tough 6x6 or 7x7 but if you have any intention of completing all the levels WAIT!
